I interviewed for two different positions over a course of 5-6 months. At first, I was impressed with their interviewing process. There were certain recruiters and team members that I spoke with consistently. They were incredibly encouraging, no poker face at all, letting me know that I was a fantastic candidate and that the hiring supervisors were excited about me. The only feedback I got after being rejected for this first role, after multiple rounds and final interviews, was that there were no negative notes, and that they partially didn't want me for the position because they had me in mind for in a different department that they'd be hiring for soon.
I waited a few months for that to be posted. The recruiter reached out to me and encouraged me to apply. I was super patient throughout multiple delays, unanswered emails and postponements surrounding this second role. After a month, I was shoved me off to a different recruiter who never responded to my calls or emails, despite my inquires for feedback and how I could prepare. I made it to the final round of interviews again for this second role. A month later, I hadn't heard back. (They had initially estimated a week or two for decision.) When I reached out to the negligent recruiter, he told me, "Oh, we sent you a message, but you didn't receive it." Nonsensical. He blamed it on a glitch. I had to again ask if I got the job or not. He told me they moved forward with someone else (this must have been weeks before), but that "the team thinks I'd be a great fit at Zillow. No negative feedback."
All of this to say: Consider the possibility that this company is leading you on before lending too much time, effort, or patience.
