      Entrevista

Walmart, as many other companies, utilizes electronic resumes which can be generated either online or in the store itself. A computer is generally made acceptable at each stores respective Site to Store location. General questions of prior employment and references, a short quiz was also required to determine math capabilities. One of the tricks at this point is to place checks next to as many different sections/positions as you feel comfortable in order to improve a call back sooner. I will also let you know now that my references were called to verify truthfulness. Roughly two months passed before I was asked to arrive for an interview, by this time I had already started employment with another company and informed the manager that the previously posted availability hours were no longer accurate. This caused no sway in their decision to continue asking for my arrival. I was requested in arrive the following day being given instructions to arrive at a certain location for retrieval, my interview was scheduled around my other jobs hours so as not to intervene. Meeting with a Customer Service Manager, who introduced themselves immediately upon my gathering, I was informed again of the position I was being interviewed for and verbally provided a list of responsibilities, each time being asked if this was something I would be able to accomplish on a daily basis. The interview continued on with questions pertaining to my prior work experiences in order to provide further insight to the environments I was accustomed to and how I was able to balance a professional and personal life. The overall process took roughly 20 minutes and I was asked to verify my resume, particularly contact information and available ours with the Customer Service Manager before being informed that I would be receiving a phone call in a day or two from the Manager directly in-charge of this particular store section. This individual was slightly askew, I learned later she had recently just started screening applicants, questions were taken verbatim from a sheet of paper and she said the word 'umm' very often. The interview was conducted at a computer station set up for Department Managers and Managers, this caused no problems at the time as I was fortunate none required its use. The only downside was that this station was in an open area next to a hallway which was in constant use so several distractions did impede our progress. My phone call arrived the following afternoon and another appointment was scheduled which worked around my current hours. Several questions from the first interview were re-phrased in relation to prior employment/responsibilities and I was again given a verbal list of both expectations and daily occurrences being asked each time if this was something I could do on a daily basis. Scenario questions were posed as well, for some multiple choice answers were provided, others required my own insights. This interview was conducted in a closed room and my interviewer came about as self assure. I can remember at no time when this session was not fluid. The overall process was again roughly 20 minutes, and while the position had been offered to me I was informed that a drug test was required before the next phase of the hiring process could begin. Over all both interview locations were well maintained and clean. My best advise would be show up properly groomed and dressed for your interview, with possibly answers to questions circulating in your mind. Be honest, and evaluate yourself so that your own best traits can be made known without directly saying them to your interviewer. Walmart culture in itself is based on key areas that all ultimately come back to treating others as one would wish themselves to be treated. Granted not all variables of the work environment can be touched upon either here or with each store location/job, but I have found not only in my own store but those that I am requested to provide additional help to that associates are encouraged to remain as upbeat as possible. Upper management however does, again in my case, keep a mindful ear to problems that arise in life, trying to find a beneficial cohesion as these occurrences take place.

Nothing specific, but several questions asked one to describe, "A time in your life when.." and then a scenario would be minimally provided. These were requested to be answered quickly and with detailed explanations of actions taken in each case. "Describe a time when you were tasked to complete several projects. What steps did you take to complete the work and what other options could you have taken to come to the same or better outcome?"

There was a lot of questions but overall it went pretty decent. They were your standard interview questions. I am happy with the outcome but maybe I could do better next time.

Solid and very well informative process. It was straightforward and well put together. I really enjoyed the people that I interacted with and ultimately chose another route due to time constraints.
