The interview focused heavily on my technical expertise and experience, with in-depth discussions on various topics. I believe I performed well during the technical portions. However, the interviewer did not allocate any time for me to ask questions or provide additional clarifications.
Throughout the interview, the interviewer occasionally made assumptions about my statements, interpreting things I did not explicitly mention. From the start, there was no introduction about the company or its activities, which deviated from standard practices. The introduction was brief, mentioning that the first half hour would focus on backend technical questions and the second half on frontend technical topics.
In reality, the interview lasted approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, with most of the time spent on backend technical questions. The interviewer often created hypothetical scenarios during the discussion. This approach mirrored that of his colleague during the other part of the process.
Overall, while the technical assessment was thorough, the lack of interaction and opportunity to engage with the interviewer left the experience feeling one-sided.
