An initial telephone interview. Interviewer/hiring manager was 45 minutes late and explained he was in a meeting. After some introductory general questions and trying to find out more about the position because the online job description was very vague, the interviewer told me I was too "technical" to be a systems analyst. He basically wanted someone that was not technical which I'm not sure how effective you can be as good systems analyst without having technical knowledge. Manager was very green and after the phone interview I withdrew my submission for the position.

It was a contract to hire, so as a consultant. The interview focused on situational skills. Additionally, technical skills were tested for the role. SQL, Visual studio and communication were important. My role involved handling multiple projects end to end. They look for outside the box thinkers who can handle difficult situations and communicate clearly and effectively

Phone interview basic knowledge questions then invited to panel interview. Followed by panel interview consisting of four people where a great deal of customer service scenario were brought up. Then a final panel interview with hiring manager and director. It was a formality but questions were still asked.

Phone interview basic PC knowledge, Panel question knowledge of PC and Active Directory knowledge, lots of customer service scenario questions.
I am typically part of a panel and am well aware of the interview process. I interviewed for a system analyst position. Had a positive phone interview with hiring manager. Was asked to go in an hour interview with a panel. Most of the questions were project oriented "how would you prioritize your work load and what would you do if you were tasked with project from your manager but had other responsibilities." I answered everything and I must say based on me having my own experience being on a panel I had good answers. However there was one senior analyst who kept going off topic( list of questions are provided to panel). Kept asking questions she came up with herself- more project oriented questions but expected a technical answer. Sure enough I get an email from the hiring manager saying they liked me interview but had more questions about my technical ability. Don't think panel members should come up with their own questions on the spot. Basically a waste of my time with the bias questions and fake personalities. Guess if your there for 8 years with the same title and no progression. Manager indicated not many bonuses but good environment. With the panel members- I doubt that.
