Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Mazzetti (Denver, CO) en dic 2019

      Entrevista

Mazzetti has a problem with intentionally ghosting applicants. I applied online for a Senior Mechanical Engineer position at their Denver office in December 2019. I was contacted by someone in their HR to schedule a phone interview. I interviewed with an electrical engineer in the Denver office. The interview lasted about 30-40 min and was pretty straight-forward. We went over my professional background, and based on that and the job description, I thought I would be a good fit for the role. I didn't hear back from Mazzetti, so about a week after the interview, I sent an email to both the lady in HR and the electrical engineer I interviewed with reiterating my interest in the position. I also asked if they could provide a status update. A basic question that anyone that's been interviewed by a company would be wondering. Nothing from either of them. That was the first time they ghosted me. A little over a month later, in January 2020, I wrote to both of them again, saying the same thing as the first time. Again, nothing from both of them. Second time I was ghosted. By then it was obvious that it was intentional. Ghosting applicants who have already been through one round of interviews is a terrible way to treat people. It shows a lack of basic human decency and a lack of basic professionalism. The fact that it was done to me twice, by two different people, is absurd and unacceptable. Mazzetti HR is intentionally not doing their job. If they feel I'm not a good fit, it takes two minutes to copy and paste a form response like "I'm sorry, but we didn't feel that you were good fit. Good luck in your job search." But they just don't care. Is that kind of poor performance acceptable at Mazzetti? Their website has a lot of marketing about how important people are to them, but they certainly don't live up to that standard. If this is how Mazzetti treats people they interview, working for them must be even worse.

We wanted to address this feedback to, again, apologize to this applicant for our significant delay in responding to him regarding his status. We certainly don’t “ghost” people and were not intending to ghost him, but we made an honest mistake regarding who was going to follow up with him regarding our decision. When we discovered our mistake, albeit very late, we apologized right away because we would never want to leave any applicant wondering. This particular situation is not indicative of Mazzetti’s normal recruitment, but we’ve used it as an opportunity to improve our processes via Microsoft Teams so that it doesn’t happen to anyone else again. We appreciate the feedback – sometimes the hardest lessons are the best ones.
