I was ghosted after being promised a role at a prominent company in the Phoenix area. I was told I was skipping to the top of the list because the manager wanted to hire me and then told we had to go back and do more interviews, to be fair all the others that had interviewed and I understand that part. I had a second interview and was given a "homework assignment" for the third interview and stayed up working on it until 2:30 AM. The final appointment was canceled the day before it was to occur. First, the interviewers were not available and later, I was told due to end-of-year budgets (the process was dragged way out) and the Sunday after, I got a "thanks no thanks" auto-mail from the client - on a Sunday morning. SUNDAY MORNING. I emailed, texted, and called my otherwise friendly recruiter. Crickets. It is two weeks later. I moved on but this was one of the biggest nightmare situations. Fortunately, I can use my presentation as part of a portfolio. But not for this place!
