Me postulé en línea. Acudí a una entrevista en MSCI (Londres, Inglaterra) en nov 2024

      Entrevista

I withdrew from the process after the initial interview as I felt like the culture would have been wrong for me (unprofessional), based on my interaction with the recruitment/talent acquisition lady. Important to note that the carbon markets function at MSCI was originally Trove Research, before it was acquired by MSCI. That means that the analyst salaries you see on Glassdoor are not representative (MSCI carbon markets BU has a lower budget). The interview process was fast, but also not very well executed. I was contacted within a few days, and then asked questions which should have been gleaned from the application itself. This suggested to me that there's a focus in the recruitment side on numbers and stats, i.e. how many candidates were progressed and how many made it to interview etc. This is a massive waste of everyones time. After emailing the recruitment lady to say I wanted to withdraw, she marked my application as 'not successful'. Again, this suggest to me that it's because they're very focused on the recruitment stats. The good news is that I was able to manually update on their portal that I had withdrawn. Details on lack of professionalism: When i provided my salary expectations the lady said "For a research role?!?!?!" Yes, for a research role. The whole business is research, so why should you not pay your employees a decent salary? Regardless, the correct way to respond to that would be to just say 'thank you and if it's not aligned'. You can just reject the candidate. But, it seems, they must have hired talent acquisition people on a very low salary so, clearly, you get what you pay for.
