I was contacted by IAS for a role which they wanted to fill quickly. I had a call with HR, with the hiring manager, and then I was asked to come into the office for several hours in a row of interviews.
During the whole process, the HR person made it seems like the role was mine and it was just a question of getting everyone's feedback and giving me an offer.
However, one week after the last round of interview I did not hear back so I chased and was told that I would not be moving forward into the process.
Logically after spending such a long time interviewing, and especially IAS approaching me for this role, I asked for feedback. The HR person ended up having a call with me and telling me how upset she was that I chased her for feedback, which I explained was natural as everything seemed to imply that the role was mine.
In the end, she admitted that the fact that did not move forward had nothing to do with my interviews and competencies, but rather the fact that they wanted to hire someone less senior in the end.
Overall, I believe that it was an internal miscommunication on the team needs, and unfortunately it gave me a negative experience about IAS and their hiring process.

The process was quite thorough - Recruiter screened, CCAT required, technical screen, and then followed by team interviews. The entire process took about 2 weeks from start to end. Take the CCAT seriously - It assess how quickly you can think and is required before you move to subsequent steps
