Really the worst experience! I was applying for a Senior role in Mobile application.
I got a call from HR and collated my current and expected CTC. Then they scheduled the
first round (Day 1): It was a basic screening test on programming and data structure (1hr).
Day 4, they scheduled the second round: It was a technical round on mobile application. He covered all the topics and also problem-solving (1hr). Everything was going smooth till this. But last he asked my current CTC. First I ignored it, then asked me again. After I told my CTC, he come to the conclusion.
How can an interviewer ask for such confidential information?
What is happening in the selection process?
Are you guys hiring a person who is lower than your scale?
HR was not responding even after multiple emails. It's been 2 weeks.
