Applied online, received an invitation for a phone interview. The recruiter asked my the typical questions, in addition she asked me salary requirements. My requirements were at their top range. She provided additional information including a $10,200 monthly car allowance paid in 2 monthly installments. I questioned the dollar amount, she said I was the only candidate so far that questioned the amount. The interview basically stopped their and and said she would verify the amount and would get back to me by the end of the week. She didn't follow up, so the following week I sent her an email asking if she was able to verify the $10,200 monthly allowance, she never responded. My final thought was how can you have such an incompetent recruiter in the hiring process, is this how they conduct business?

Don't interview unless you like being ghosted. I passed up on interviewing with other companies based on feeling like I had good interviews just to be ghosted for a month and then told I didn't get the job. I made numerous attempts to get updates just to met with responses of "the hiring manager is on vacation" and "the hiring manager is still on vacation" or just not getting any response at all.
