I had one short interview with several people at once. They were all very nice, highly prepared, and asked straight-forward questions. So that part of the process was great. But this was the week before Christmas so the rest of the communication was not ideal. No one was able to answer my question about what the salary range for the job was as the person who could tell me had already gone for the holiday. I was also asked to do an (unpaid) design test several days before Christmas and deliver it several days after Christmas. I regret not pushing back on this but I was concerned that if I asked for more time I wouldn't even get an answer and would be left in limbo. So I did the test, though I admit it wasn't my best work as I had to squeeze it in during my Christmas. I did not receive an offer. I see this as a learning experience for me - don't be afraid to ask questions upfront and push back when necessary.
