Be young and underpaid with some sort of retail experience. They will hire you in at what seems like a decent wage until you actually experience the hours and the work load.

I had a decent amount of retail experience with a what was in hindsight a really good company, so I sort of led the conversation and blew them away. I feel like they're used to interviewing fresh out of college kids that just need a job and have no retail management experience. If you know what you're talking about you'll be fine.

Very unorganized, no one knew what the other managers were doing. Norma the shoe manger was a nasty person and doesn’t like caucasians. Very back stabbing & they treat sales associates like trash.
I was heavily recruited. It was a smooth process. It consisted of 2 interviews. It was consistent with other retailers. The questions were answered and it was inviting . That’s all I have to say about my experience at Dillards

After introductions and light conversation you are asked about your work experience, customer service skills, personality traits, et cetera. Many of the hiring managers keep the interview process light and easy going.
