I applied online back in March and didn't hear back till mid-April. Had a interview with recruiter went well and moved on to 1st stage which was panel style with 4 other cyber security staff. The interview was like a rapid fire type of interview with all of them going in a circle asking me questions. Which felt a little overwhelming and a but on organized but wasn't too bad; if I didn't know an answer I was just straight up about it instead on rambling on something I was unaware about. The hiring manager even apologized on the format. But after the interview I was told I should hear back in about a week about next steps. Week went by and no update. Sent an email for an update and still no response for a week. Waited another week and sent a follow up email. And got a response right away stating they for a better candidate.

First you are interviewed by a recruiter, if that goes well you are pushed to the next interview. They will tell you who you are "supposed" to interview with and what the topics will be. The people who showed up the interview were not the people who was assigned to interview me. They said I had to have a working camera but NONE of the interviewers had one (only the recruiter). My interview questions sounded last minute and like they didn't know what job I had applied for and were asking questions that were not part of the job. At the end of the interview I was asked to relocate to Texas. I was told by the recuriter this was a remote job within an hour and half of DC. The interviewers had NO idea and said they don't have any remote workers. The whole process was a waste of time and VERY disorganized. The interviewers had no idea what i was being interviewed for.
