      Entrevista

After my resume was received and reviewed by HR I was contacted for a simple phone screening interview with basic behavioral type questions. I was called again, by the same person in boston HR and asked the same qestions. I explained to him that we had already gone through this a week prior...Oops! I was then contacted about 2 weeks later by email to set an phone interview appt with the managers in the Bothell, WA office. The appt was set for them to call me on a certain day at a specific time. No phone call came at all, as I was waiting around and prepared for my interview. I emailed the HR person who set the appt and she informed me that it was a 'tentative' appointment. This was never mentioned in any correspondence. It was extremely rude and disrespectful of my time. We set another appointment for a phone interview, and again no call. On the third scheduled appt I finally got THE call. I was never notified when there was a cancellation or a need to reschedule, they simply did not phone, very rude. My phone interview was 45 minutes long with 2 interviewers and they were nice and friendly. I was then contacted within a week for a face to face to be arranged at my local Allstate claims office since I would have to relocate to WA. This was great that I was able to interview near home and not have to travel for a job I may or may not get. THe face to face was with 2 managers, which were very nice and quite mellow. No behavioral questions as was the entire phone interview, just getting to know me kind of stuff. Then I sat on the floor with an adjuster who does the job I was appplying for. The office is typical call center with cubicles and 2 workers at one station. It was actually quite quiet in there and all of the employees I did meet were friendly. I was informed early the next morning that I did not get the job in WA, but an openning in my local office openned that day for the same position, so I applied for that. I was not contacted for nearly 3 months before receiving the good ol' "thanks, but no thanks" email. Better luck next time I guess. Just expect to not be a priority during the application/interviewing process, and it is my understanding that setting interviews and no call/no show is typical with insurance companies, so just be persistent if you want it bad enough. It does make me question if I would want to work for a comapny that treats people that way though. In the last email Allstate is using a new source for the hiring process, more online, I hope they are more organized and respectful.
