From application submission to interview scheduling was 120+ days.
Interview Panel tried to convene numerous times and interviews were delayed numerous times. Long periods in between with no communication from County at all. When interview was finally scheduled, a letter was received announcing an indefinite postponement for the filling of the position.
Later found out that the current Chancellor's contract was not being renewed and they were looking for a new Chancellor (who presumably would be involved in the selection of the Vice Chancellor for HR). Application process was extensive and required detailed, position papers along with a visionary statement.
People and work culture in the HR department were not very customer friendly. Employees did not appear very motivated and tended to operate in "silos" (i.e., operated within own, narrow framework). Highly inefficient talent recruitment and employment process.
Be prepared to wait . . . and wait . . . and wait. Panel is very diverse with many competing interests.
