Achievers (formerly I love Rewards), uses a three phase interview process that consists of a group interview followed by a skills interview and if you're lucky enough, a topgrading interview.
The topgrading interview is very indepth and it took two full hours for me.
The company really wants to get the right people in the right positions. I was originally applying for a position that Achievers deemed not to be the best fit for my skills and they believed, as a result, I would become disengaged after the inital honneymoon was over. However, they wanted to find a position for me. Generally when I hear this from a company, I think it is just a nice way to let someone down.
Turns out that I stayed in contact with the company and a position enveutally opened up that I was well suited for and it seemed to have great opportunity for growth.
In my situation, I ended having a total of five interviews. This is not the norm but I didn't mind coming back time after time because I really enjoyed speaking with the recruitment staff, managers and directors at Achievers.
I think the recruitment process of a company is a good indication of how highly they value their employees. The best job experiences I've had in the past were won after very tough recruitment processes. Achievers is one of these companies and I'm very happy to be a part of the team.

Entrevista
The first interview was done with a group of about 20 other candidates. I was notified by email that I was invited to an "Info session" for the position I had applied for. The HR person would pose a question to the room and each person would take turns answering it. Questions were basic behavioural interview style (i.e.. "Tell us about a time when you dealt with a difficult person") Overall the interview was very fair.
Then there was a second interview with just myself and two individuals who were currently in the role. They went over my resume and asked me various questions about it. I had the opportunity to ask additional clarification questions about the role. It was a very reasonable interview.
I found their HR people to be rather phoney - fake smiles and all. I understand that interviewing people all day can be boring but for the sake of professionalism I think they should try harder to at least appear interested in what candidates have to say.
The Achievers culture seemed exciting and entrepreneurial but also kind of intimidating and intense. They have a "work hard play hard" philosophy where everyone wants to be their personal best. This mantra sounds great in company brochures; however, after spending some time there and sensing the intense culture of achievement I wondered whether these people can work as a team.
I can say with certainty that this company is not for everyone. The best advice I can give anyone interviewing at Achievers is to get a sense of the unique company culture and really think about whether it's the right environment for you - regardless of the job you're applying for.
